This year, NIT Arunachal Pradeshorganized a National seminar on Gandhi Jayanti on virtual mode to pay homage to the Father of the Nation - Mahatma Gandhi. Many faculty members and students participated to pay tribute to our lovingly called Bapuji.

The hosts of the programme Dr.Preetisudha Meherbegan with a warm welcome and cited quote of Mahatma Gandhito set the theme of the day. The seminar marked the presence of Chief Patron Prof. PinakeshwarMahanta, Director, NIT, Arunachal Pradesh. In his welcome speech, he emphasized on various initiatives the institute has taken into inculcate Gandhian ideas in the campus for developing a healthy environment. His speech clearly stated that the institution is looking forward for more initiatives to Gandhian Philosophy.

Dr. R. P. Sharma, Associate Professor, Dept of Mechanical Engineering formallyintroduced the Key note speaker Padam Shree Professor Dinesh Singh Ji. Prof. Dinesh Singh Ji delivered a perceptive speech explaining the Gandhi’s Truth.

After that, Dr. R. P. Sharma introduced Prof. Ramesh K Arora Ji, Former Dean, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur and Chief Guest Prof. Anand Bhalerao Ji, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Rajasthan.

Prof. Ramesh K Aroradelivered an insightful speech in five parts and explaining the moral values of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. He took us through the amazing lifestyle Gandhiji had undergone in different stages of his life and very interestingly highlighted the noteworthy qualities of Gandhiji.Prof. Arora’s speech undoubtedly encouraged the participants to follow the principles of the Father of Nation to be self –reliant. The theme of his speech centered around “Gandhi: The Man”.

Later, the audience had the privilege to listen to Chief Guest Prof. Anand Bhalerao Ji, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Rajasthan, who highlighted the life and principles of Mahatma Gandhi in his speech.

These thought-provoking speeches were well summarized by Dr. Ram Prakash Sharma. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks given by Dr. Ram Prakash Sharma, Associate Professor, Dept of Mechanical Engineering NIT, AP.
